At work we currently have around 7 computers and our bandwidth is not that heavy. Not more than 15gb per month - no way. Our current ISP is Virgin and we pay around £17 p/month. We have obtained a mac code because we want to transfer to a IP with static IP address and better service.
However, the business is changing as we receive jobs via radio uplink to computer is being axed and all going though the internet, which is rarther exciting change. However, I am concerned about reliability of a phone line being used in this way - totally dependend on it work all the time. However, outages can happen.
I was looking at BT broadband's option 2&3 for around £30 per month or one of Zen's accounts for £21 per month. I'm not sure what ISP to sign up to based on criteria
I have some questions/ comments that I hope people here can answer and guide me to a good small buisness ISP :
1) I need static IP address.
2) Has to have good service in terms of fault resolution
3) I've read about dual routers where you can have a back up 3g or mobile connection, are these routers good?
4) Bt option 3 broadband includes a mobile dongle - will that have the same IP address as the main line account should I sign up with them?
5) Has to have decent, but no need for mega bandwidth allowance.
6) Has to be reliable.
