I'm keeping it as my daily driver...

But I need a cheap ass second car or small van to accommodate a Black Lab for camping trips and short trips to the beach.

Any suggestions?

cheers

We’re back up to 4 dogs now. When we had 4 previously we bought an Amarok with a back on it! It’s why we’ll now keep the 10 year old Kia Sportage just for the dogs. It’s worth about £3k P/X but worth more to us, as we’ve had it circa 6 years.

I'd say whatever facebook market place has with a long test and take a punt for less than a grand. No one will want to buy it after it's had wet dogs in it anyway so just drive it into the ground.

At that end of the market it's way more about condition rather than a certain make or model.

P2 Volvo V70 D5.

Rugged, durable, reliable, cheap to buy and run - you can even fold the seats down flat and sleep in the back if you really wanted to.

They have nets built into the rear seats to help dissuade dogs from trying to join you in the front like my two used to...

I'm on my second now as it's such a great dog / crap carrier.

Sadly, no longer have either of my two dogs any more though, although their fur is still very much in evidence in the boot... :(

I would say an estate as you can get the bars for the back of the rear seats that will keep the dog in the boot, also estates have lower back access than a hatchback to make it easier for Tripper to jump in and out of.
