I'm having a little trouble with getting another build. My problem is - what case?

I have about £70-£85 to spend on the case but there are so many to choose from and I am unsure what to get.

My build is a gaming build so airflow is very important. I would also love it to look nice too with a reasonable build strength (don't want it to be flimsy:rolleyes:)

The board I am using is a ATX but I don't want it to be a 'full tower' a mid tower is more sutiable :)

Thank you in advance for all your help.

Bitfenix Shinobi. Or if you want something quiet, get the Fractal R3.

For airflow, best bet would be the Shinobi or the 300R with some nice extra fans.

I've been looking at the 300R and it does seem like a high quality case. I do have a few questions about the Corsair 300R though -

Do you think it would last for several years? I wouldent want to move all of the parts out of the case into a new one anytime soon.

Forgive me for being a total noob here but I notice that the front ports are USB 3.0. My motherboard supports this but could I still use USB 2.0 stuff in them?

Thanks again. :)

A quick Google:

Your existing USB 2.0 gear will work on version 3.0 ports and vice versa. You'll be able to maximize your bandwidth when using a USB 3.0 cable with USB 3.0 devices and ports, otherwise plugging a 3.0 device into a 2.0 port or a 2.0 device into 3.0 a port will get you standard USB 2.0 data rates.

Thanks, helped a lot:)

Also for the Corsair 300R case a few YouTube reviews says it has no dust filters on the top, would this be a problem?

Sorry for 101 questions:cool:

If a place where you put your case -> floor ...for sure. If desk ,well, similar but to smaller degree.
Check R3 or maybe Fractal design Arc Midi ...still torn between them (removable HDD rack on ARC so leaning towards it)

I can vouch for the 300r, got it this week and im a fan (no pun intended). Cant really comment on the lack of dust filters on the top yet as ive only had it 6 days, but im gonna put 2 fans up there with dust filters on.

It was my 1st build and i had no problems whatsoever in terms of space or anything for that matter. Very impressed!

Thanks. I bought it now and was having a look. Build quality is fairly nice and it does look pretty nice to (nicer than the pictures^^) very roomy and I suspect it to be pretty cool.

Thank you all for helping me.:D

Bitfenix Shinobi mentioned earlier is a nice case, put a rig in one for my nephew for christmas and found it easy to work with. I also really like the look of it. Can't really compair it to or recommend anything else in that price bracket as I've not been hands on with them.

There are loads of case reviews on youtube though if you have sometime to kill, TTL's vids are worth a watch.

edit: nvm, trust me to skim read the thread. :/

most people don't normally have the top as intake fans only exhausts so dust filters aren't needed

I'm torn between the 300r, shinobi, r3 and nzxt 410 phantom. I can wait a while before making my decision though.

I'm pretty much changing opinion daily at the mo.

Personally I like the phantom 410 most.

I got the Corsair 300R as suggested here and it's great. Looks solid and is soild. Great airflow etc.

But I'm also getting the Phantom 410 (dunno if white or black yet though:( ) for another build. I generally like the styling of the phantom more than any other case I have seen though. I just hope it's great with airflow and easy to work with :)

Probably the shinobi in Black/green given I've already got some green led sickleflow fans. They will look really good I hope. Like I said though no major rush to buy.
