Need a Cheap but Reliable Wireless Network Card

Title says it all. I've just called Sky and I'm switching to them for the Broadband and the router will have to be connected to the phone line down stairs, so I need to add a wireless network card to my PC.

I built this PC back in March and I'm pretty sure it doesn't have any wireless connectivity:

1 x Lightscribe Blu-Ray DVD+RW+DL Drive (My old one)
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB (My old one)

It needs to be reliable with downloads and gaming but I can't really afford to splash out loads on just a network card.

I've not much knowledge on networking so I need some help, thanks :)
 
I have this one.

I always find Tp-Link to be good, ive used quite a few of their wireless products and they worked fine for me. This is the 150mbps model but you can get 300mbps and even 450, but the 150mpbs is great for the price, only £10!

It all comes with drivers on a disk and worked instantly. no fiddling.

Is that a good enough card for £10?? Like I say I have little knowledge concerning networking hardware as I've always been wired until now. Seems really cheap at £10. I won't experiencing any problems with downloads or online gaming?

Keep in mind, the router will be about 3 meters below me in the downstairs room so I am close to it :)
 
Yeah, i have had no problems with it, my router is also downstairs around 6 meters away. I've had no problems with it disconnecting or anything.

But i think Tp-link is quite a solid brand and it does the same job of ever other wireless card, just a bit cheaper.
 
Well as long as it's compatible with this new Sky router then I'll get that. I assume there's no point shelling out another £7 for 300mbps?

Well I'm close to the exchange so Sky said between 8-15Mbps which is what I'm getting now on Virgin Fibre and paying over double. Although I will switch to Sky Fibre when they eventually release it, so it would be faster in the near future.
 
well i currently have 60mbps virgin and i only have the 150mbps model and its been fine for me.

so i don't particularly think you need the higher model, unless you want to have a higher model for future.
 
That's what I was thinking, future-proofing, but it may take Sky a while to roll out their Fibre. Can't really complain at £10 anyway! Thanks, I'll get the 150mbps model then :)
