As the titles suggests, I might be in a bit of a pickle. I want to get a proper second monitor for streaming as I'm using an awful tablet at the moment but I don't want to effect my primary monitors GSYNC ability either. Is it possible to get a cheap second monitor just for twitch chat and OBS etc whilst maintaining full screen or GSYNC windowed support on the primary display?

Yeah thats the sort of stuff I've read, which is why I want a concrete answer before splashing the cash. Tempted to just upgrade my god awful surface RT tablet to something faster and just use that instead.

I use two monitors, one gsync (1440/144) and one standard (1080/120) and have no issues playing games in full screen mode, gsync works perfectly as usual, slave monitor sits and does what it needs to do. Both monitors connected to the same card (980Ti) one over dp the other over dvi. Border less should work fine also, gsync is now 'always on' even at desktop so everything displayed on the desktop should sync too.

Yes you can, I do it myself and run most games in Borderless Windowed or in Fullscreen mode with G-Sync.

Have had no issues with a mini HDMI panel hooked up for diagnostics beside my G-SYNC panel (aside from 1-2 driver versions resulted in some FPS issues) - though that mini panel doesn't even support HDCP which causes some video playback problems doh.

Excellent, thanks guys. I'll just have to find a monitor that does portrait mode on the cheap now due to limited desk space!
