Basically I contracted the Vampirism disease. I didn't know I had it until sunlight started hurting me, so I was pretty far into the stages of the disease.

I started the Vampirism quest and so far I have gotten as far as seeing the witch who lives by the river. Obviously I've needed to time all my runs to her and all my runs around the Oblivion world, I can only ever do anything at night time, which really sucks. In order for me to receive the cure from her I need to get her 5 Empty Grand Soul Gems.

I have looked at guides at they have told me that I can purchase these soul gems from any good Mage Guild store. That's all good and well but I am so far into my disease now that no one wants to barter with me. I then tried the Mystic Emporium in the Imperial City, but they are also too scared to speak to me.

I really want to get rid of this disease as it's ruining the game for me, I just want to explore freely.

Does anyone know where or how I can acquire these Grand Soul gems? I've been told they are also in certain caves, but which ones?

Thanks.

Feeding keeps the disease at bay for a while. Reduces sun damage and means people will talk to you.

Find a sleeping person and click on them as if you were about to pickpocket them (best to do it in sneak mode, you get bounty if anyone sees you), then just select 'Feed' from the pop-up menu.

Yeah it should also mean that other people will trade with you.

just wait till night and when nones around feed on a beggar, they don't die :)

As for getting the gems go into the mages guild halls and lock pick the cabinets with gems in, then swipe the gems, in vanilla oblivion that doesn't count as stealing from the guild in some mods it does, so sneak if your running ooo etc :)

Should get more than 5 from all the halls.
