So am getting a new graphics card today and am looking for a demanding game or just a game that is going to show off the performance fof the new card if i compare it to my old card, i was thinking something like Crysis, Farcry 2, but then i have played these games rather a lot, though on low graphical settings. should i just go for one of those or do you guys suggest another game thats impressive eye candy? cheers. :D

How about FSX?
That would give you the chance of showing how even highest-end graphics cards can judder along when coping with low-detailed terrain, especially when also dealing with low polygon count road vehicles.

But seriously: How about GTA IV? That on high detail looks sensational.

Well i have Mirrors Edge coming with the card which is a plus :D so will have to try that. was considering GTA but when i played it on a friends pc i wasn't massively impressed. So crysis would definitely be worth the install? anyone know if windows 7 is DX10? cause if not i take it installing vista to run the games in DX10 would make thing prettier?

just wondered :P i am not really enjoying windows 7 atm it's being a complete pain in the arse so just thought i would ask lol

Why are you even use it? Go back to XP.

That exactly what i am thinking atm, but i do rather like it, thats the problem. I guess once it's ready for sale it will be good, but currently at the RC stage it's a complete pain :( back on topic lol we all thinking that mirror's edge and a bit of crysis should look nice?

Crysis
Crysis Warhead
Farcry 2
Fallout 3
Mirrors Edge :)

For The Graphics show off ;)

Farcy 2 not so much for the GamePlay

whats the point of having a UBER PC and ussing XP?

FTLtbh

Might aswell stuck with your Old PC if your gone use XP

:| people moan and moan about Vista and Windows 7

There is nothing wrong with Vista anymore (people moaned about it when it came out and never gave it another go) and windows 7 aint even finnished :|

i did say that it was in RC stage, sorta saying i expect it to be like this :P and i cannot go to vista as i don't have a copy of vista, so whats your great idea to solve my issues? whats wrong with xp? seriously, what is wrong with xp, it's severed me well for years and thought i like 7 i will just wait for a release copy that can be purchased. so though i am moaning, it's sensible moaning :P you make it seem like using xp is going to dramatically impact upon my pc performance when i don't see how it will over then an older version of direct x

XP is fine still. If you are comfortable in using that then stick with it. It won't impact too badly on your gaming, you'll only lose dx10, which is overrated tbh.

However I would recommend dual-booting xp with Windows 7 x64, just so that you get used to the newer os. I do that (though I admit I usually just stick to xp :p) and it's great to be able to access all 8GB of my memory.

Games? Try Crysis for stunning visuals, Left 4 Dead for good polished gaming + acceptible graphics.

If it is the 32-bit version of xp it will only adress roughly around 3.5GB of RAM.

That's where he is coming from perhaps. I don't really mind either OS but 64-bit is just essential nowadays I believe. And like said crysis baby. :p

fair enough :) i was planning to dual boot, though at the moment i am using the virtual machine that comes with 7 when you install XP mode so might just stick to virtual. meh. but cheers guys i'm gonna have to go get crysis again.
