Hi guys - quick question for you knowledgeable laptop folks.

I want to get rid of my desktop gaming system, as it is too hot, noisy and takes up too much desk space. I want to replace it with a laptop, and use it with my external Dell 3008 WFP monitor.

That means that the laptop needs to have a dual link DVI-D port. The two laptops I've been looking at are the Dell XPS 1730 and the X90R (this is a re-badged Clevo d901C, sold by one of OCUK's competitors).

I know the Dell has dual link DVI, but am not sure about the X90R. Does anyone know? Failing that, can anyone recommend any alternatives upto around £2.5k?

Thanks in advance.

It looks like their entire range only has single GPU options though. A single 9800m gtx probably isn't going to cut it 2560 x 1600.

Also, does anyone know when they are going to arrive?

It's too hot and noisy? a laptop will in all likelyhood be worse for those two.

My desktop has:
2 x 120mm case fans
2 x 92mm case fans
Tagan PSU fan
CPU cooler fan
GPU cooler (stock 8800gtx fan)
NB chipset fan (this one is particularly annoying as it spins upto 7500rpm when the system is under load).

I keep the tower on the my top of my desk. When just surfing the noise is fine. However, once you run a game, all the fans spin upto full speed and the thing sounds like a hovercraft.

I built it all when I was heavily to overclocking stuff. Now I just want to replace it all with something simpler and quieter.
