need a gaming laptop

Hi Guys
As my office is being turned into a room for our new baby, I am going to have to change to a laptop.
What sort of money do I need to spend to get a similar gaming performance as my desktop? (spec in sig)
I was looking at around £1,400. I dont mind loosing performance as long as it can run cod4 smoothly.
What brand do people consider to be good?

Which of these would be the better gaming machine?

Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 2.4GHz,3MB Cache,800MHz
New NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTX 512MB (DX10)
2 gig ddr2

or

Intel core 2 Duo T9400, 2.53GHz, 6MB cache,1066Mhz
NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GT 512Mb DDR3 Graphics
2 gig ddr3

For whatever reason the 9800M series are all better than the 8800M series , despite what you'd think of the 8800GTX being better; so go for that one definately, of chips out at the moment, only the 9800M GTX and 8800M GTX SLI are faster

Not hugely, but they are, so I'd go for that if you're gonna buy now. Might wanna wait til OcUK gets going though as sounds like they've got a large range planned, as the ones on show right now are only a preliminary range, not the full one.

I think these are based on the Clevo chassis, if so, they should be top quality. We shall have to see when they are released though.

AMILO Notebook Xa 3530 looks good as an ATI 3800 series option. Only problem is finding a supplier in the UK

Im looking at moving away from having a desktop pc, and getting a gaming laptop instead.

Not bad spec for £1170 :-)

hopefully someone will get one on soon, and get some Benchmarks up
