My MX518 is dying and I need a replacement (Logitech may send me a replacement but will sell to fund new one). I would really like a mouse wheel which clicks to the left and right as well as the usual click and scroll. I've found plenty of mice which have 8+ programmable buttons but can't seem to find any with the extra scroll wheel functionality. Are there any about?

I've been looking at this, but I can't justify that much money on a mouse and I find it doesn't really give me much of a performance boost. I use a bar runner has a mouse pad...

I was wondering how good those MMO mice were, I was hoping for a price around £50 rather than £100 though.

Well an MX510 and MX518 are pretty much identical. So you and me both know how valuable and useful those two side buttons are. Now imagine what we would be doing with 12 of them.

I'm actually quite tempted by the MMO mice, I use the arrow keys mainly so the extra buttons would be very handy. These 2 look more like the price I can afford:

Razer Naga Molten Special Edition Expert MMO 5600DPI Gaming Mouse
Logitech G600 MMO Gaming Mouse - White (910-002873)

I can't tell if any have side buttons on the mouse wheel though.

EDIT

On closer inspection the Logitech has little arrows point to the left and right of the wheel which kind of indicates you can use them as buttons. I'm sorely tempted by it, anyone got any experience with one? It appears to do well in reviews.

Also found this one:

Razer Naga Hex Expert Action RPG/MOBA Gaming Mouse

Which looks like it may eliminate some of the button confusion but not so sure about the mouse wheel button functionality.

A little like a marmite mouse, either love it or hate it but can't fault the design of the thumb buttons on the M90/95 got the M90 and the profile switching is so useful. Scroll wheel however has no side click functionality.

A lot of people slate Roccat for their mice but I have got the Roccat Kone+ and it has served me well! There is a lot you can do with it and you can create multiple binds by holding two buttons down at once.

Example: I use mouse2+mouse4 together to get my grenade out.

Also it is a comfy mouse to grip and its one of them tiny ones!

Roccat Kone+ 6000 DPI Max Customization Gaming Mouse

Ordered the G600 from OcUK, will sell the G400 Logitech are sending me to part fund it.

EDIT

Just double checked and they are sending me a G400s as a replacement for my MX518. Selling for £50 on the Logitech site!
