But not an "uber hardcore l337" one.

Pretty much the only game I play is Counter Strike :Source. With a bit of f.e.a.r and bf2 thrown in.

I have a budget of slightly over 1 grand.

I also do the occasional video editing, I have a LOT of media files. I'd like a dual core but if you can get me an uber cheap spec try me

I want 2gb of ram as a defenite, want it sli capable.

I need everything (including screen) Except keyboard, mouse, soundcard, speakers and printer, so a lot

Also need a ethernet wired router

.. its faster than a 7900GT & cheaper too!

Well honestly I don't mind if it's sli/crossfire.

How much do you think the prices will come down for the dx 9 cards around when dx 10 comes out?

They'll drop fast IMHO. DX9 cards have been around since the Radeon 9700 and that was ages ago now.
