I need a good Headset with a Mic that will be used for online gaming.

I have a Plantronics DSP 400 Headset at the moment but don't really like it, it tends not to stay comfortably in place and I wasn't over impressed with the Mic responce...

Looking on the OcUK site the Sennheiser PC160 Pro-Gaming Headset has caught my eye. Does anyone have one of these or can recommend a good alternative. Price isn't really a factor but don't want to go ott.

Will be used on a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty.

Thanks

Thanks for the replies.. think it will have to be a Sennheiser as they look pretty nice, I'll read the reviews from the links and make my choice.

Cheers

Not a bad pair, but interference is horrendous. If you have a cordless phone or similar, you will have to banish it from your desk.

I usually keep my mobile on the desk and dont have any problems.

Im glad im not the only one, I cant have my mobile anywhere near me when using the medusa headset.

Apart from that, they are great. Very comfy too.

I have the same problems, and so does another friend of mine. Speedlink support suggested wrapping it in foil :D (didnt work).

They amp is very poorly shielded, but they are still leagues ahead of the plastic fantastic Senn 150's.

I didnt have any trouble with my phone and my 5.1 USB medusa, however, no matter what i tried i couldnt get the mic to work.

Stopped working about a week ago after having them for nearly a year, wont be buying a new set, at least, not a USB one.

Id love a decent 5.1 headset with mic again but its so hard to get a decent one.

The Senns are ok. I was a bit dissapointed that the ear pads dont cover the whole ear and sit on the ears. They do hurt for a while when you first use them. Other than that they are pretty good.

the sennheiser 150 are probably the best for their price range. Speedlink mdeusas's are good, but not for music ;)

So there you have it.

Best Price: Sennheiser PC150 Binaural Headset

Best Headset: Sennheiser PC160/5 Pro-Gaming Headset

I personally found the Sennheiser's miles better than the Medusa's. I could just NOT get the Medusa's to sound any good whatsoever and the interference from my phone was very annoying :(.

Not had any problems with mine in all fairness.

My brother has a pair of Medusa 5.1s.
There awful, sound quality is poor, not clear at all, and the surround effect is rubbish, not really any different from a decent set of stereo headphones. Plus there really uncomfortable.
Much prefer my cheap unbranded headset which I got for less than a tenner at a competitor. The base is awesome on them :D
