Need a good gaming mouse

I have just got myself a laptop to game on and need a mouse that will compliment it, I play mostly FPS. Looking at something that is not too over priced but not cheap and nasty. Hopefully something upto around £30.

As i have never bought a gaming mouse i don't know what to look for so some help would be greatly appreciated.

I use a laptop and game FPS mostly just like you. I had a laser mouse but it was a cheap one so it broke eventually.

My new mouse is the best I have ever used bar none.
It is called "Cyber Snipa Stinga". Some features:

- red LED logo
- 3200 DPI
- excellent rubber grip for palm and fingers
- scroll button - goes up, down, left and right
- weights system - so you can adjust how heavy/light you want the mouse
- record macros, on the fly macros
- on the fly DPI modes
- front and back button - for web browsing (they don't get in the way, most do)
- long cable
- works best with Cyber Snipa Tracer Pad (lights up blue around the edges)

Razor makes good gaming mice too, but this has more features and the looks.

Does look good blade, but a little bit more than i have to spend on one at the moment.

Looks like it down to either..

Logitech MX518

or

Razer Diamondback 3G Frost Blue

Can't quite decide, also don't understand this 3G thing.

MX518.
Just search MX518 & read the countless posts recommending it. Not only is it the Ultimate FPS mouse it is also cheap & backed up by the best after sales in the world, Not that it needs backing up as I am Brutal Deluxe when it comes to thrashing my mouse whilst playing FPS & mine still rocks on Perfect years later.
There is no way in the world any other mouse even comes close to the performance for the price & even if I had unlimited cash to buy a mouse I would still choose the MX518, Nuff said.

:D @ the Bumpy comment.
The mouse is flat & fits your hand like a glove, The extra buttons become part of your armoury whilst roaming a map looking for your next victim. Side scroll buttons are used for instantaneous melee kills & press down scroll wheel chucks an instant nade, On the fly adjustment is perfect for when switching between a sniper rifle & an assault rifle etc

Basically the MX518 is the Answer.

Probably the 518 if your budget is truly limited.

If you can stretch to a fiver extra then the Deathadder is an absolute peach of a mouse!

Most natural feeling mouse i've ever tried - smooth, accurate and reliable. :)

EDIT: BTW i've previously used a Microsoft Optical, Intellimouose Explorer 3 and 4, Saitek Gaming mouse, Saitek GM 3200, Logitech MX510, Razer Copperhead and Diamondback. The Deathadder was in a completely different league.

I personally hate the MX518, G5 and G7 while I loved the Diamondback and G9. I think it's all in how you hold the mouse.

If you hold the mouse with your palm, get the 518. If you grip the mouse, get the diamondback.

Have a 1600dpi 518 in my hand now, its now my work mouse after I replaced it with the G5

Very good mouse has served me well and still does for work, although I do like my new G5 now but I managed to pick it up for the same price as the 518

Thanks to everyone that posted their comments and views. I have decided to go for the MX518 as it does get rather good reviews. Shame it is so ugly looking but who cares as it won't be visable once i am using it. :D

Im guessing you dont mean how heavy the mouse is when you lift it?

dP

No that is exactly what I mean.
On the underside of the mouse there is a circular area that can be opened to reveal seven slots for removable weights (20g each).

The weights are supplied with the mouse and you can store any unused weights in the "weights box". :)
