Need a good splitscreen multiplayer game (PS3)

Is there anything that you guys can recommend? I've already played the COD 4 and WaW multiplayers to death. Looking for something worth playing with 4 people, aside from COD and Fifa, and am coming up short!

Can you play a 4 player splitscreen deathmatch on Resistance 2?
 
Boo...it's times like this when I hate online gaming - it's still far more enjoyable to have a night with a few drinks and play against 3 of your mates in the same room than it is to have a few drinks and play on your own, only interacting with people by way of a somewhat crackly mic.

4 player should have been an absolute shoe in for things like Resistance 2. What's Warhawk like? Not heard much about it, is it any good?

EDIT: Hmm, Motorstorm could be a good shout. Not as fun as killing your mates though ;)

Also, whatever happened to bots? Perfect Dark was the pinnacle of offline shooters IMO.

Clearly you've not played pacific rift, the yells of both anger and joy as someone in a flashy rally car gets squished by someone elses' monster truck are fantastic.
 
Really? Very tempted, is it a lot better than the first Motorstorm? I figure that if there isn't much difference, I can pick the first one up a fair bit cheaper! I'm only really in it for the multiplayer. Also, do you need to play through the single player to unlock stuff? Is the multiplayer playable (with more than 1 track and 1 car) before doing the single player?
 
iirc everything is unlocked on the multiplayer side of things from the get go. All you unlock in the single player game is differen't 'skins' for the cars, as in they just look different but perform exactly the same.

Imo it's miles better than the original, greater variation of vehicles, greater variation of levels, more varied routes each better suited to certain vehicles and better graphics. Also, rather more significantly for you, the first one does not support 4 player split screen, i don't think it even supports 2 player.
 
I would definately check out warhawk if you havent played it before. you can play 4 player split screen whilst still playing online with others iirc so its a good craic.
 
Happened to go round to a mate's this afternoon who had Warhawk-awesome game, great fun with 3 of us, may well download it tomorrow. Does anyone know what the SKATE offline multiplayer is like? 2 or 4 players?
 
i've never really been bothered with online multiplayer but love having mates round and firing away on some split screen game... last one i did was resistance but in 2 they spoiled it and went for some strange class based thing that wasn't the main story... was just a rental so played about 10 minutes and put it back in the envelope...

i definitely think there should be more split fps games... the halo series was great fun and so was resistance, haven't found much else to compete :(
