First off sorry for adding to the pile of "I need help threads".
Right I am looking for a new monitor. Nothing fancy or super feature rich. I would just like a decent sized monitor for gaming with decent response time and good vibrant colours. I am coming from a 19" LCD TV 1440x900, some unknown response time north of 5ms probably 9 or so, 0.2842mm dot pitch.
In mind I have 2 monitors both of which would be a great improvement but I am open to better suggestions.
Iiyama 27" X2783HSU-B1
and
Asus 24" VN247H
I am not great with monitor jargon. PC parts fine, monitors no so much. So with that in mind are there any major pitfalls to lookout for in these two? I have looked around at the reviews of the Asus monitor and they look good, the Iiyama on the other hand has no reviews that I can find anywhere.
My main concerns are the response time and the Pixel Pitch.

Any help or other suggestions in the price range would be a huge help.
