Hi. I'm looking to replace my desktop with a laptop (13" screen - then connect it to my 20" and propper keybaord when i'm at home). The problem is I'm not sure what speed these new laptops work at and if it's fast enough.
My current desktop is an athlon 64 s754 1.8ghz with 1gig ram and a 9800 pro gfx card. I find most of the time this is adequate for my needs.
I've found a sony vaio laptop (C1S) that has:
Intel Core2 Duo T5500, 1.66Ghz,
2 MB - L2 Cache (1Mb per core)
1GB DDR2 SDRAM PC2-3200 (which i'll probably upgrade to 2)
100 GB Serial ATA (5400rpm)
NVIDIA® GeForce® Go 7400 with TurboCache™ supporting 128MB
I know it's a 1.66 but i'm thinking the new processors will be much more efficient. what do you think? will i be able to replace my desktop with this laptop and not notice any speed difference?
