A friend is buying a new AMD rig and has said he will swap his P4 540, Asus p5ad2 premium + 2GB of DDR2 for my 2GB of DDR. This is great for me as I want to move to PCI-E and pick up an x1900xt as they're at such a good price...As long as I can raise around £200 from the sale of my x800pro(@XT), Northwood, P4C800-E deluxe and a gig of ram that is. ;)

Couple of things though.....How well do the 540s clock on air? I'm at 3.6 with my 3ghz Northwood, any chance I could go higher than this with a 3.2 (older) Prescott? I've no idea about overclocking with DDR2 but the DDR2 he has is not matched it's 2x corsair pc4300 512MB and 1x Samsung pc5400 1GB, which I'm guessing will make overclocking a no-no, so what would be the best thing to do, pick up another 1GB Samsung stick or go for one of the Corsair value 2GB kits?

Overclocking is an afterthought really as I'm more interested in PCI-E but it would be nice if I can get it to run just a little faster than my current system. :)
