Hi everyone,
Need a little advice on a new desktop for gaming. Mainly play things like Fallout, Doom, X-Com, Galactic Civ, Dota2 and FIFA with the odd racing game thrown in. Current laptop is coping okay but I'm not spending as much time up and down the country anymore so think it's time to up the power. This is the what I've got so far:
Case - In-Win 805 Aluminium Midi-Tower Case - Black
Motherboard - MSI Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon Intel Z170 (Socket 1151) DDR4 ATX Motherboard
Processor - Intel Core i5-6600K 3.9GHz (Skylake) Socket LGA1151 Processor - OEM
CPU Cooler - Corsair Hydro Series H100i v2 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (CW-9060025-WW)
Memory - Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-21300C16 2666MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black (CMK16GX4M2A26
Graphics Card - Zotac GeForce GTX 1070 AMP Edition 8192MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Solid State Drive 1 Samsung 250GB 850 EVO SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps 32 Layer 3D V-NAND Solid State Drive (MZ-75E250B/EU)
Mechanical Hard Drive 1 Seagate 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache HDD - OEM (ST2000DM001)
Power Supply - XFX XTR Series 850W 80 Plus Gold Fully Modular Power Supply
Case Lighting - NZXT Hue+ RGB Dual Channel LED Controller - Black
Operating System - Microsoft Windows 10 64-Bit DVD - OEM (MS-KW9-00139)
Mouse - Razer Mamba Chroma Wireless Professional Gaming Mouse
Monitor - Dell UltraSharp U3415W 34" 3440x1440 IPS Curved Widescreen LED Monitor - Midnight Black
Total = £2,412.76
Is this complete overkill?? Nothing wrong with a little overkill though. Anything I could change to make it a better build? Or maybe even just more economical? Don't want to go above £2,500 in total for system and monitor. Below £2k without sacrficing too much "oomph" would be amazing.
Thanks in advance
