Hi everyone,
Well, thanks to the people who helped me decide what to get...
I got a Phenom X3 720 BE
Asus M4A77TD Pro
Corsair XMS3 DHX 4GB
HIS 4870 1GB
Western Digital HDD (32mb Cache one!)
Im using the stock cooler at the moment because I came in over budget slightly, the Mrs went mad lol.
I got it built tonight, just finished it, Windows 7 Ultimate installed.
Now it seems that this M/Board has a slightly cut down BIOS, I really am getting confused with it. I have changed the multiplier to 15 so the three cores are running at 2.99ghz. Now what can the stock cooler go up to before I need to start worrying?
Also, I have set my memory in the Bios to 1600, I cannot see any options for dividers etc. I used to have a Core2Duo system where I would run the memory the same as the FSB, now with AM3 im really confused. There are HTT values in MHZ and all sorts of other values, I need someone who can explain what it all means. I dont want to go crazy at all, just a small boost would be nice.
Oh and I turned on the ACC and enabled the fourth core however strange things started to happen even when I disabled it so I had to re install Windows as I got BSOD.
Im a bit annoyed that when fiddling with voltages it doesnt give you a value, just lets you give it a bt more juice in three increments. Still the board was £68 so im not complaining. I cant wait to buy a mouse in the morning and start playing some games (yes I lost my mouse lol)
Oh nearly forgot, in the BIOS my ram voltage seems to be Auto, now that apparently means 1.5v, so do I set that to 1.8 like the memory is rated to?
