Hi all, was up at overclockers yesterday for some items, the items i got were as follows:

TFC Compression Fitting G1/4" Thread 3/8" ID/1/2" OD - High Flow
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-012-FO

and

Masterkleer 1/2" Tubing 'Thick Wall' UV Black - 1m
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-091-OK&groupid=962&catid=1530&subcat=

But i dont see how i get them to fit have i brought the wrong tubing or something? I DO need 1/2" tubing as all my other fittings are 1/2 any help and advice is appreciated!

Separate the compression fitting in two
fit the 'ring' part over the tube
push tube onto fitting
screw ring onto fitting (compressing/locking tube in place)
job done

If the ring will not slide easily up and down the tube - the tube is two thick.
most 1/2"(~13mm) tube has a 1/8" thick wall makeing the outside diamater 3/4"(~19mm) - 1/8 + 1/2 + 1/8 = 3/4

I don't know if 'Thick wall' Masterkleer is 3/4 OD but I would guess. As 'thin wall'' types are 1/2 ID 11/16 OD Tube

I think you have the wrong fittings. Those you have use 3/8" tubing. You have 1/2" tubing so would need these size fittings

The tube size is the inner diameter, not outer. You therefore need to mactch this to the ID on the fittings

Unfortunatly im no good with sizes or anything, i think the problem is to do with me getting "thick" wall tubing so maybe the ones you suggested will work with the thicker wall. I may just try some thinner walled tube just depends if i can persuade someone to give me a lift to the store again as i have no CC and im a distance away lol

Oh the fittings were suggested with another tubing but thats when the store didnt have this tubing in stock i just clicked the top black one teach me to look next time :-P I'll see what happens with pliyers tomorrow if is a flop thinner walled tubing

Doh! how did I miss that - Duck spud is right - you need different tube really.
But if the boot fits it fits. as long as you have a good full turn of the 'ring' nut it's not going anywhere.

Don't force it with pliers - you may rip the tube

Not ur fault shadowscotland, both of you have been really helpful so thanks :)
I have it tight on the tube, so will give it ago on a leak test when i get the res bay one day was dissapointed i went to oc with the site saying 10+ to get "none in stock" :(

Oh well, thanks anyway guys :)
