Ive just completed a build of an HTPC which has gone well thus far. But I have now hit a stumbling block. My gf has a Lucky Voice karaoke set (dont ask) that I am trying to hook up. The idea of this is that you watch the words come up on the screen, then you have a jack that goes from the PC headphone jack to the Lukcy Voice unit, and then another lead that goes from the unit to a Phono/Line in on an amp and to the speakers (as if it were a record deck or similar).
My issue is I am routing my HTPC through my amp using an HDMI lead for picture and sound. If I hook up the phono/line in to a different source input on my amp, I cannot select that input without losing the picture, which renders the exercise useless.
As a result Im wondering if I can get a sound card that will accept the phono/line in, and then take this sound, and send it out via HDMI back to the amp?
In terms of the sound broadcast by my PC, does it just simply send out any sound source that it is playing, so if I were playing music, watching a movie and had this Lucky Voice thing all playing at the same time, would I get a mish mash of all the sounds coming out?
Random question I know, but thoughts appreciated.
