I'm in need of a new system as my old AMD Barton is not quite cutting it for music creation anymore. Plus the old 4200ti isn't going to cut it with Stalker and Bioshock
Here's my seventh or eighth parts list:
CPU:
E4300
Cooler:
Freezer 7 Pro
Memory:
Crucial Ballistix 1GB
Motherboard:
Gigabyte GA 965P-DS3
GFX:
Sapphire X1950Pro
Case:
Antec P180
Hard Drive:
Samsung Spinpoint 320GB
DVD Drive:
LG ?
PSU:
520w Corsair
Media:
AKASA card reader
existing 1212m soundcard and copy of Win XP.
Half of this would be from OC and the rest from another site. It comes to around £550. I could push my budget up to £600. I don't want to go any higher.
Which components would you change/upgrade, bareing in mind that:
1. it need's to be very quiet (I record vocals a few meters away from the computer).
2. I plan to overclock, but not at the expense of a noisy system. Probably a moderate overclock.
Does anyone know how long the cables are on the Corsair PSU. They need to be quite long for the P180 case.
Thanks for any help
