I only realy wanted to spend around £800 but i couldnt make a spec for less, so if anyone could recommend cheaper items with the same performance that would be great
i dont want an asus mobo, i no some are cheaper than the mobo i chose but i have had issues with Asus Mobo's so i wanted to stay away from them.

thanks in advance

** edit linked correct CPU

Why DDR3? as far as i knew its still fairly new and hence a high price, for £70 you can get 4gig of 8500 speed stuff, and if you did that you could get the E8400 processor instead... lol sorry im loving the E8400 atm, but anyway.... Obviously crossfire is i must for you... bearing that in mind...

Ten pound less... better CPU but DDR2 ram :) dunno what you think?

EDIT: if Crossfire isnt a must then you could get within budget or nearer at least, I have never felt the need for it as one great GPU is better than 2 good ones imo

thank you for your responce,
however i linked the wrong cpu i ment to link the Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB)£148.04

also will the ram u suggested will it give me the same preformance?

ahh i see... From what i always hear on these forums and totally agree with get a quad if your intending to do a lot of encoding and CPU intensive stuff and currently Dual cores for gaming, at least until games start coding for Quads which currently there isnt afaik.

As for the DDR2... well its going to be slightly slower granted, but the difference will be barely noticable in real world terms, but the extra 2 gig in choosing the DDR2 will see a more noticable performance increase.

If you want to get DDR3 for future proofing then i cant help but think DDR3 is going to be mucjh lower in price by the time you would ever need it :)
