Need a little help.

I have just bought a new graphics card and whenever I put it in one of the PCI slots and turn my computer on, the screen just stays black.... Why?

My computer is PCI and here are the specs:

Is there not an option in the BIOS to turn off onboard gfx, like onboard VGA or something.
