I need a mobo to run this system please lads

£80 max, need it to hold a lot of ram and to be reliable, durable and good quality, needed for gaming.

Let me know,

Cheers,

James.

Slot layout looks to be the main thing.

Possibly a difference in overclocking ability. But the P43 is no less reliable or anything like that. P45 can take 16GB of RAM, P43 seems to be a maximum of 8GB.

Will you be overclocking?

Probably not... I'll probs have 8 gb in there at some point...

I want ut was gaming, css, bf2, quake etc

Whats up with the P5N-D?

Alternatives to that are the P35/45 chipsets.

Ive got a P35 board but im missing my nvidia SLI board :(

Ordered my case now!! Should be on it's way today, Antec Nine Hundred.

Now time for the mobo, I'm buying parts weekly so that it dosnt seem as expensive as the rig altogether with no screen is just short of 800..

Can't wait now though...

The Asus P5Q range are right in your price bracket and are all P45 chipsets. I went for the cheapest and it's a great overclocker. If you have £80 though I'd go for the cheapest that has 2x PCI-E slots just in case you want to go xfire sometime in the future.
