My monitor has just decided to die, it keeps turning on and off with my input from me so I guess the inverter has died.

Could anyone suggest a screen with really good colour reproduction? Not really bothered about low response times and size needs to be decent, but not massive.

Thanks!

Eizo ColourEdge or NEC or LaCie are considered to be among the best monitors for professional graphics work, however, they do not come cheap.

How much are you looking to spend? If colour reproduction is paramount consider buying a smaller Eizo or similar rather than a larger Dell or similar.

Cannot afford Eizo or LaCie really, looking to spend maybe half what those monitors go for, say £400?

Also a great monitor, nothing really in it to be honest. Other than the HP known to have no major issues like the Dell (at least I don't ever recall their being). The difference in spec is nothing you'll really see on screen (I don't think the HP has the 10bit internal signal processing of the Dell, but it's realistically still too low to make a difference where it counts) and neither can be classed as proper proofing monitors so it's pretty much down to which you prefer the look of to be honest!

The LP2475W also suffers from the colour cast issue the Dell does! Bugger!

The right side is pink and the left side is green.

It seems to be a common problem with the IPS panels, most of which are made by LG. Surely, they can make these panels with better quality control than currently being pushed onto customers.

The 2475 is great indeed, but I would hasten to add that mine died a premature death - just wouldnt power on. And though visually acceptable, the refurb swap out was ooooold, which was rather upsetting.

It's a disappointment when I purchased it based on the reviews of it's colour accuracy over on tftcentral, having any colour cast is completely unacceptable imo.

I have a Spyder3, is there any way to get the RGB values from different parts of the screen as the software only uses the central portion?

I have noticed from quite a few reviews of monitors that the reviewers seem to either play down or shy away from these "tinting" issues.

I too need a monitor for Photoshop. What comes close to the Apple monitors in say the 22 or 24inch range and what specs do i need to be looking out for??

My budget is £500.

I can honestly say that the sample reviewed did not show any tinting issue. I'm not denying it is an issue out there, and many people are affected. If I had seen the issue or uncovered it through the testing, I would have definitely covered it. I suspect there are more happy users without the issue than there are people with the problem, but the net tends to only really cover the people who have posted with bad experiences

If you have a U2410 with the issue, or any other screen for that matter, I would suggest an RMA or return

If by close you mean in specification, the Apple monitors are far from the benchmark. It's not hard at all to get something better for less. The Dell u2410 is better straight off the bat.
