I'm running a 5700XT and currently capped at 60 on a 4K TV at 1440p. I've got a budget of around £400 to spend on a new monitor and preferably would like a screens size around 27"/32". I was looking at an Alienware AW2720HF which is an IPS 240Hz 1080p but not sure what else to consider?

Looking at the same monitor. Apprehensive going to 27inch as 24inch is apparently best for eSports, and not sure if it should be looking at 1440p if going that big. Really good price though.

I can currently get it for £339 but not sure if 1080p on a 27" would seem right, reviews are good though.

Personally i'd wait for the Iiyama as those two you mention are not as nice resolution wise and they're VA rather than IPS panels.

Really depends on when OcUK can get their hands on them, I prefer the CS over most retailers if an issue arises. Any others you'd consider over those mentioned?

I was settled on a 27" 1440p but decided to go for the 25" IPS 240hz Alienware AW2521HF at £279.99... this was after discounts and a decent warranty that's included.

Wanted an IPS plus high refresh and after recent advice from several users a 27" is apparently too big for 1080p! So settled on the above, good choice? we will see Friday once it's delivered!

Yeah i wouldn't go above 25" on 1080p. I don't think I could go back to 1080p after 1440p but your mileage may differ on that. Will your gfx drive your games above 144fps though?

I have an MSI 5700 Gaming X that's crying to go faster!
