We are looking into building our own gaming server based around the Nforce 4 platform. My friend has built servers for buisness use mostly involving data base's and web servers but never before a server invloving games.

Basically we think the Nforce 4 chipset may be the best option however we want integrated video, buying a video card would cost more money & is unnessecary, we need to keep space to a minimum. We also think the dual core Athlon 3800+ or 4200+ is a great option. Now the nforce 4, athlon 64 combo is all good and well when playing 3d games but how does it fair against hosting online games? We are looking at hosting a red orchestra ostfront 41-45 dedicated server (the games uses the unreal 2.5 engine).

Im looking at the geforce 6150 board (the Asus A8N-VM to be exact) and i think this may be a good option but im unsure how it will perform as a game server. We want to keep cost to a minimum but dont want to take the cheap option and suffer performence issues later on. We also want to try and fit everything into a 1U server case.

Any help from experienced people that have dabbled with gaming servers and recommendation on hardware would be greatly appriciated.
