Need a new 120mm fan for my PSU, any suggestions

Pretty much, most PSUs have a custom connector so you'll have to splice/solder the fan onto the old connector anyway.

Thanks for the sense, hope I do not have to solder otherwise will buy replacement, tried soldering with the original square grey psone's and killed a few, lol

You funny.

But yeah, just check the connector and alsio the thickness of the fan maybe different than the usual 25mm

Thanks, was that hard lol (NOT)
(p.p.s Many thanks for your help Stulid)

You may know lots about desktop pc's & be the god on here imo but some of us will always be newbies, lol :-)

If you can fix the PSU for spending just a fiver, then that has to be the best option, your PSU isnt even that dam old (2years?).

I wouldn't take it so seriously, it's only a forum.

Anyway, when I say solder I only mean two wires (not onto a PCB) so it would be very easy to do.

Simply twisting the wires, wrapping electrical tape around 'em and then using some heatshrink will work fine 99% of the time.

You could also crimp them, very quick and easy.

Thanks for the advice Raikiri

5-9? you sure? I would give it 2-3 looking at review dates.

One more bit of advice, on the side of fans are two arrows, one is the blade rotation direction, the other is the direction of airflow.

Enermax Magma. A great PSU fan that can stand high temperatures and has a good MTBF.

It might not have sufficient airflow though. You need to know what's in there at the moment to make the right decision. If it's the same as in the Bit-tech review then it's a max 2000rpm model so the Magma will be slightly slower but probably will be fine.

If i were you id just bang in a spare fan i had, saves you any money really, then again all depends if you have a spare fan haha

Finally ordered the replacement psu today, so many to chose from
Antec TruePower New Modular 650W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply

& then decided to add a few other bits,
Akasa 20/24-Pin 30cm PSU Extension Cable
Akasa 8-Pin 30cm PSU Extension Cable
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler

Planning to overclock once happy with the base set-up :-)
