Need a new Cpu cooler - Suggestions?

Hi all,

I currently have a Kraken x41 sitting here and unfortunately it wont work out in my new Corsair 460x Case.

I need something that wont interfere with my high profile ram and must be compatible with AM4 Ryzen.

not sure if you want air or liquid but after my AIO leaked I went back to air and got the cryorig quad lumi.

It runs cooler and quieter imo than the masterliquid pro 240 I had prior.

And one of the selling points was that it clears any ram.

Liquid prob your best bet if you're looking to push it hard. I'm running a Hyper 212 and am happy with it. Thankfully it came with the bracket so didn't need to wait for them to post me one out.

Crystal 460X has 165mm CPU clearance. What motherboard do you have?

Thanks for the replies guys. That's the thing. I had ordered a auros gaming 7 and it arrived doa. It has a corrupt bios. So I'm waiting for a refund. I think I'm going to pick up something else. Apparently it is a relitively common bug with this board.

The other problem I have is that my ram is high profile gskill 3200.

I have a kraken am4 mount which I bought to use with the x41 before I realised it wouldn't work with this case.

how does the X41 interfere with your ram?

Go with a AIO if space is an issue - something like the Corsair H110i has an AM4 bracket.

(Going with a giant heatsink limited my case choices - you're going in the opposite direction to me)

If you have room for H80, you probably have room for a good air cooler.

The clearance issue is with the ram though - the case may have space for the fans, but the socket does not.

Without knowing what motherboard I can't say for sure, but most motherboards have 50mm center CPU to near side of RAM socket .. and there are many coolers designed to fit fan behind RAM. Cryorig H7 and H7 Quad Lumi for example. Scythe Fuma is higher wattage and will clear with only middle fan or fans in pull/ pull.

But really need to know motherboard and case to say for sure what will fit.

PS. That is an AM4 system as well. H150i Pro comes with the hardware to mount it for AM4.
