I decided to apply some new thermal paste to my existing cpu and when it came back to fitting my ACF7 Pro it just wouldnt attatch and now I've snapped off most of the white plastic bits so therefore need a one, stupid design tbh, this time i want one with a backplate and a bit more beefy so was thinking the:
Tuniq Tower 120-LFB CPU Cooler (Socket 478/754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)
£22.99
£27.01 inc VAT

As its on special offer this week, just wondering if its any good and will fit on a Asus P5N32-E PLUS SLi and in a Antec 900, im pretty sure it does from doing a little research but just checking, also if theirs any better coolers out their. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I've heard that one being one of the best, but wouldn't i need to buy a fan as well? but if it fits onto my motherboard and fits inside my case then if its better than a TT which seems so then i might buy that one, thanks.

Ok, thnx for that, right I'll buy the one you linked then, I'm guessing any 120mm fan will go work, and that i plug it into the same place i had to with my ACF7 Pro, any recommendations for a 120mm fan?. Just checking if it will fit in my case and I'm guessing its gonna be huge!, thanks again.

Well after reading through and doing some more research i think I'm gonna buy a Noctua NH-U12F CPU Cooler which is still an upgrade from my ACF7 Pro, the reason i aint gonna get the Thermalright is because of a few things I've heard & read, like the bottom being concave and needs lapping and the retention system ain't very good and so on.

1 more quick question, when i come to install and plug in the fan, can i plug it into my fan controller or does it have to go in the cpu fan pin slot. thanks in advance.

The Thermalright Ultima-90i is a superb Cooler. Got one fitted in my case with a 120mm fan on it. Idle temps are really low averaging between 19 and 24 depending on room temps etc.

Lapped my ACF 7 pro the other day coz its the only cooler than fits my case/motherboard... to my suprise (wasn't expecting much as I didn't put the time and effort in to give it a good proper lapping) the idle temps dropped 3-4C and load temps dropped a good 5-7C.

I've just installed a thermalright Ultra-120 on my E6600. I had the same concerns about the base and retention system. The base was a little convex, but it doesn't seem to affect it's performance (44c under full load). The retention system was very easy to fit and there is no movement after installation. Very impressed.
