Hi

could some one please suggest a email client that will allow me to access fastmail, gmail and MSN ?

i am using outlook express at the moment but for some reason the Gmail account keeps changing its setting every time i close the program and i only reinstall xp yesterday because my hard drive failed and it also did this before that so there is some problem with outlook express and Gmail.

any way i think i need a client that will do pop, imap and http

will Eudora do this ?

I'm yet to find an email client that can handle a slightly unstable IMAP server well. It's a tad annoying as that's where most of my email goes. Otherwise thunderbird is generally good and the best of a bad set of solutions so far.
I would like to use windows live mail as it indexes your messages for the vista start -> search (although I guess I could possibly add thunderbird's messages to the index location, not the same though). Its IMAP is pretty poor though. It likes to tell you when you get disconnected from IMAP, the whole thing blocks for 10-15 seconds while you add someone to blocked senders (still imap). edit: (forgot to finish this post obviously...)

I'm confused. Why should an email client be expected to handle a slightly unstable IMAP server? The email client should do its job, and so should the server. If the server is a bit unstable then someone needs to work on the server, not blame the email client.

..because errors happen, and error handling is a major part of software design. It's not so much unstable as slow and it's way beyond my control. :)

What is the problem? Sometimes it works for me, sometimes it doesn't. It seems to be OK for others mostly I find.

i just can not get it to access my account at all, i have tried also sorts of options but to no avail.

it says something about my user name or password being wrong even though they are correct and another one i have seen is something about a getting bad vibes :D

I've not got the username/password message but I do get the bad vibes one occasionally. I don't know why. Its very temperamental that. For example I installed that last week, it didn't work at first. Then it did later then it didn't.

it seems that it is very buggy when i read up on it on the mozillazine forum

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised. I recommended it to someone else on another forum and it seems to have worked for him.

I think the problem isn't that it is buggy per se, more that the extensions are trying to add a new feature to Thunderbird plus it is also trying to manipulate Hotmail in a way it isn't designed to be used?
