Need a new external HDD

Need some help, last one I had went faulty. Was about a year ago, now I need another one.

Been looking at the Samsung M3 1TB as my friend has one and says it has been perfect for him so far and has good write speeds.

Don't want any more than 1TB, is there any other decent external hard drives anyone could recommend?

I have used WD elements SE portable drives for backing up.
Iomega NAS drives as , well NAS drives

Both seems good so far.
Pretty impressed with the WD elements SE 1TB drive as it has USB 3.0 and good write speeds - I get close to 100MB/s backing up my SSD drive and just about the same coping data over a gigabit network!

I just bought another one today for a friend of mine for £58.99.
