Need a new gaming keyboard

I have an X4 which I'm really pleased with - it's a nice fullsize keyboard which is great for "proper" typing as well as having programmable keys for macros etc.

When I was looking at which keyboard to buy I posted a similar question to you on the forum - and (as far as I can remember) the consensus was that the X6's key layout wasn't as good as the X4 and the detatchable keypad was more of a hinderance than a help.

Hope this helps....

Yeah thanks mate. I think it looks like the X4 is the choice really.

Realy?, how much are the Cherry G80‘s?, my G15 cost me £50 brand new 2 years ago

Around £50, £42 if you're willing to go somewhere without any reviews ;)

You don't need a mechanical keyboard. Get a Saitek Cyborg V5.

If you don't need a mechanical keyboard then you don't spend more than £10 on it. Logitech Classic 200, if you can find one.

After using all kinds of rubbish keyboards on peoples PCs at work, I get home and my fingers are in heaven with my Logitech G15. It's so comfy to type with, and pretty good for games, although I don't use the screen or macro keys at all really. The backlight is good.

The best gaming keyboard I ever had was the Z-Board with the standard gaming keyboard. I was ace at CS:S with that, buttons were in exactly the right place. Its a shame it got fried in a PSU explosion, I would still be using it!

Gonna order tomorrow and i'm almost certainly going to go for the Sidewinder X4 unless i can maybe find a knocked down G510, anyone used them as i have read some good reviews?
Will be almost twice the price of a sidewinder though, so i'm not sure yet.

I have a logitech g11 unused in my cupboard.

It was too big for my desk.

I have a funny feeling I may have spilt a drink in it the few dyas I was using it? Im sure it works fine?

What a waste of money. Mayeb Ill try it out again.

If its built anything like my G15 it will be fine most likely, the G15 is like a tank when you take them apart :D

I actually found it easier and prefferd to game on my old logitech media keyboard as well so thats why I put it away.

I was gonna sell on ebay but never got round to it. Mayeb cuase I spilt juice on it. My memory sucks. Ill test it out tommorow.

I wodner how much I coudl sell for I think I paid like 35 6-12 months ago...??? geez my memory is bad on this one

I've got a cherry G80 3000 (blue switches, couldn't find brown ones for love nor money)

You'll never go back to a cheap one again, clack clack clack clack clack clack :)

Very tempted to try one of those small black/red switch keyboards for the odd game, like the noppoo choc mini.
Are liner mechanical keyboards really any better than standard 'mushy' ones for gaming?

If you can find a Razer Tarantula (Discontinued now) for sale, I would recommend it. It is the best keyboard I have owned and is still going strong after a few years of abuse.
