any recommendations should a reference design be ok or am i better off with a non reference card

looking at a zoatec gtx 980 ti amp

is it worth the extra £65+ for the msi

The non reference cards are much quieter than the reference, so if you only plan on getting one, look at those. I personally like the Zotac looks and it should be nice and quiet. MSI are great for warranty should you ever need it, so you decide if it is worth it or not but personally I like some security with a decent company should I ever need it.

Got the msi here and have been very impressed with it. Clocks well, very nicely made, the backplate is a nice touch and not just cosmetic. No sagging in the pcie slot. But overall the silence of it is amazing. Even at 100% manual fan setting it cant be described as loud. I've owned quite a few gigabyte windforce cards lately. The cooler on theese has been my yardstick for measuring silence. The msi is on a whole new level.
