I built my own O2 objective amp using nwavguy's plans. Was a great amp, but is failing a year later, probably due to my rubbish soldering.

Would like to grab a new one, but unsure where to look.

Budget, around £100.
Headphones, HD600. So a little bit of power.

Also, My PC is connected via USB to an ODac - Straight to a pair of powered monitors.
When I used the objective amp, when I wanted to switch between headphones or speakers. I'd have to get up and switch the RCA cables going into the DAC to what I wanted. I know the Odac also has a 3.5mm output too. But using both half's volume for some reason.

I'm not sure if this is a thing, but I would have liked an headphone amp that has an output too, so I could connect my powered monitors up via that, and wouldnt have to switch any wires.

Any help would be appreciated.

The Schiit Magni 2 Uber (solid state £130) and Vali 2 (tube £146) both have pre-out features which will allow you to leave your speakers connected permanently, control the volume via the volume knob and switch them in and out by plugging in the headphones.

Magni 2 Uber has been on my wishlist for a little while now, that's where I'd put my money, even if it is 30% over-budget.
