Helloooooo all :)

I'm sad to say I need a new ISP as I have been with pipex now for 2years or more because they have always let you download as much as you like and let you use bittorent.

However they have now introduced a fair usage policy and are slowing peoples connections who download lots at peaktimes and if they use bittorent they are slowing the speeds to a bare minimum!

Remember bittorrent is also used for legitimate file transfers and some of us do use it for that!

So basically I'm after a good ISP with atleast 2mb speeds.

Cheers for any help with this as I'm in a real bind!!

BigMac

EDIT: Sorry for wrong section didn't know this included ISP as well :)

I'm on some eclipse package, costs £23.95 and gives me 1meg with no limits on anything or any restrictions etc, also lets me up to 2meg for 2.5p a hour.

Im on 2mb BT Business Connection. It is very reliable and the good thing about it being business is that it has a good contention ratio. BT works fine with it.

Ive also heard PipeX is good...

Go for the best - Be there (that's the name) offers a 24meg broadband at 70pounds every 3months, Wireless box included, Now top that!

I heard about that 1mb and then you can speed it up. Sounds good to me :)

I will also have a scan on AOL's website.

That 24mb is only in London though isn't it? I'm already with pipex and they have been good till now if you read above :)

Hi

look a few posts down ... best unlimited ISP ... basically the same question you are asking ... as for Pipex i know how you feel i was with them for 4 years until they change all their policies and went on a spending spree for other ISP's ... now a very happy bunny on Ace

NTL now has a 10 meg connection for £34.99 a month. I'm on the 2Meg connection for £24.99 a montyh but this is getting upgraded very soon to 4 megs. No limits either.

Try Bulldog. For a touch less than £30 a month I get a 6 meg connection but you have to change your phone line over from whoever you're with now to bulldog. Infact they are doing up to 16 meg at really cheap prices at the moment too :D

Getting some idea what LLU providers you can get would be a good idea. Samknows is your friend.
If you can't get their LLU deals, recommending Bulldog/Be/UKOnline et al is mostly pointless.
