Ok i am going to order a keyboard over the weekend which i will use mainly for gaming i was just going to get the saitek cyborg to go with my mouse but i am not reading a lot of bad things about it so i thought i would put it up for debate what is the best keyboard for me to buy for gaming (preferably with controls for my music also)

I just got the G11 and I'm pleased with it. I'm not really a gamer but needed the illumination and the macro buttons for my apps so does what I need.
Only thing I can criticise is the twiddly volume wheel not feeling responsive and also the legs being quite short. Again, perhaps its a gaming thing that I'm not aware of but they're not major problems.

I'm not an avid gamer either, but did need an illuminated board. I've had em all in the past and it's difficult to get excited about a keyboard, nevertheless, this new Logitech Illuminated KB is superb. It's only a keyboard though - I leave gamey-type functions to my Saitek wireless controller.

what about the Saitek Eclipse III Gaming Keyboard with Multi-Colour Backlight has this got media controls? so i can start and stop my music whilst in game? and can the G11 do this?

I have only tried the media controls with WMP playing in the background and it stops, plays, pauses music ok. When I increase the volume, it does increase WMP and any other audio app like my dvb app at the same time so seems linked to Master Volume. Thats in XP though, so dont know if it would be smarter with Vista Volume Mixer, I couldnt say.
Here is a review someone has posted of the Saitek III. Seems to have the media controls but not happy with not being able to program the macro keys.
Still wish the legs on the G11 would raise the keyboard angle slightly more - most keyboards I have owned tend to have two heights of legs but this only has one.
Looks like I need to look for something to prop it slightly.

thx for the info guys :) i am going to leave buying a new keybord till early jan to see if priced drop after Christmas. lol i am going to be buying a lot come jan getting a 4870x2 a new keyboard and a home cinema system.
:)

+1 for Logitech G15 or G11, I have the 1st revision of G15 and its great, if your willing to wait the new G18 and G13 is coming out, for more info google is your friend ;)

I use the older Saitek Eclipse-I with the blue backlight, and it's great. The feedback from the keys is excellent, and it's proven to be trouble-free for more than a year now. Build quality is very good, and the keyboard is nicely weighted, so it doesn't slip during gaming.

I tried the G15, but somehow, I didn't like the feedback from the keys.

I hate the G15 and sold mine. The keys just seem too close together and small. I'm back with my Microsoft 4000 as the Microsoft Reclusa I bought to replace it does'nt work with Vista despite claiming that it does on the box.
