Hi guys, I currently have a gigabyte z68xp-ud3p mobo that is around 3 years old now. Coupled with an i5 2500k CPU 1155 socket. The mobo has fault ram slots. I need a new one. What are my options? Source an old 1155 board or go for new board and CPU?
Thanks
Joe

Would it be worth upgrading or will my 2500k CPU be good for a while yet? Comp is used only for gaming and internet browsing. Thanks

realy depends on what you want to spend.
Ive read a few folk still saying there 2500k runs fine with modern games.
how long will it be viable for I dont know as ive never owned one.

you could upgrade to the 1150 and 4690k for around £250 through a bundle or if you want to spend more you could go to skylake.

Ive just bought a gigabyte x97 sli and 4690k bundle and im over the moon with it ( apart from I never got my pack of haribo!! ) but it really depends on what you want to spend.

Thanks for that :) ok now the problem is finding an 1155 board, that's equal to or better than my z68. I can see a z75 new on eBay for £95. But apparently the z68 is better. Anyone know where I can get a suitable mobo?
