Need a new monitor

My monitor, ASUS VE278 (1920x1080@60Hz) recently began having issues when turning on the computer. It kind of flickers trying to switch on and it takes it 2 – 3 min to actually turn on and actually display anything. I have connected the monitor to my laptop (a different computer) and it also had trouble turning on. That way I know the problem is with the monitor and not for example with the graphic card.

Please let me know if you think the problem can be fixed but for now I believe I need a new monitor and here’s the main question, with my specification:

AMD Ryzen 5 3600;

16GB RAM;

ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING (WI-FI) (AM4);

2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660;

SSD Drive;

What monitor resolution should I aim for, 1080p, 1440p or 4k?

The monitor is for the most general use, browsing, movies, video games and some photoshop. Are there any models that are most desired in their particular price range?

Finally, I think I could wait for the black Friday (which is 34 days at the moment) and try to get some better than usually deal.

I will appreciate any advice.

With you setup I would recommend 1080p monitor if your looking to get the best frames, a good overall monitor would be AOC 24G2PU, Gigabyte G24F or Mobiuz EX2510 or EX2510S.
