The pins on my motherboard are bent where the CPU sits, therefore I believe the motherboard I have is knackered. I have a socket 1156 i5 CPU, but I find it extremely hard to find a motherboard that is compatible with this.

Does it mean I have to buy a new motherboard AND cpu? Or keep trying to find a motherboard that fits my current cpu? :/

Unless you can find something second hand, then selling your current CPU and then getting a new 1155 board+CPU is about all you can do.

I just find it odd that it's only 2 years old and it's really hard to get a replacement.. Is it a case of they stopped making them?

No idea, but I guess with Sandybridge being so dominant, they were just slowly left to die.
