Hi, I’m in dyer need of a new PC, I will be mostly playing the latest games but also doing some college work as I soon start my 2 year IT course. I don’t specifically need the best components out there at the moment just good enough to handle any game out now comfortably so the 8800 320mb is enough, I plan on just upgrading my PC now and then to cope with the new and upcoming games. I have experience with building and overclocking PC’s so that’s no problem. My budget isn’t the tightest, around £1250 tops but I ideally don’t want to spend it all so I still have some money to upgrade certain components when I need to but if its worth it I don’t mind spending it all. I’ve got a few ideas already, I also only need the tower and a new monitor, and I already have the Saitek Eclipse, MX510 & the QPad Masterpad.

Current System:
AMD Sempron 2600+ @ 1.83 GHz
512MB of RAM
Nvidia Geforce 6200 PNY
80gb HD

System I’ve been looking at:

Obviously I’ve still got £500 left over so I can upgrade when I need. Anyway what do you guys think, buy something like this or blow all my money and get things like the 8800GTX 768. Thanks in advance.

Very nice spec. The things i would change is the CPU to this:

The Graphics Card no need for the OC2 Version, this one should do:

Also change the 80GB Hard Drive and get two of these: and stick them in RAID 1

I would save the money personally since that system will do you very nicely.

About the GTX unless you have a 24inch + Screen the GTS will do. :)

Welcome to the forums, it all looks good although I'd probably agree with stickroad on the CPU and graphics card. If you are considering Raid0 however then remember it doesn't offer backup.

As an aside, I think you mean you are "in dire need of a new PC" unless you too are not a great fan of the Newcastle player. :)
