Hello
Want to spend about 40-55 quid on a new psu. At the moment, i have a generic one...

It must be able to power:
Sata drives
socket 754 boards, and 939
PCI X

And umm ... anything else I might need in the next 5 years. What do I look for? Whta models would you reccomend?

I only have 2 hard drives (1 ide/1 sata), a dvd drive, socket 754 mobo/cpu, and a gfx card. But want enogh power so I won't need a new psu for another 5 years.

thanks

Here are some to choose from :)

Antec TruePower 2.0 430W PSU £52.82

FSP Sparkle AX500-A Blue Storm 500W ATX2.0 PSU £58.69

Akasa Ultra Quiet 460W Paxpower Active PFC ATX2.0 PSU £53.99

If you're thinking for 5 years ahead you might need to up your budget a little and go for something like this:

CA-005-HP Hiper HPU-4K580-MK Type R 580W Modular ATX2.2 PSU - Black UV (CA-005-HP)
£54.95 £54.95 + VAT

Is there anything nearer the 40 pound mark ;) (that is still good quality though :p)?

I got my 450w PSU for £37 and it is very good (aerocool turbine) but as said if you want one that will last 5 years your looking at nearer £100 if you plan on upgrading in that time.
