Need a New PSU

Unfortunately I have to accept that my trusty Enermax 350W isn't quite up to the job of powering my latest upgrade.

My system is

Asus A8N-E
Athlon 64 3700+ (SD) (overclocked to at least 3.7G)
Geil Value RAM (2 x 1GB)
Radeon X1800 XT
1 x 7200RPM PATA Hard Disk
1 x DVD ReWriter
1 x Floppy
1 x 80mm Case Fan
1 x Arctic Freezer 64 Pro heatsink fan

I reckon the Enermax is only just short but buying anything less than a 450W PSU would be a risk.

This is a purchase I hadn't budgeted on and could do without.

Ideally, I would like to keep the cost under £45 (including P&P).

I don't need super quiet but at the same time don't want it to be overly noisey.

New PSUs that are within budget that I have seen are from Jeantech, Thermaltake and Hiper.

Will also consider 2nd hand although postage tends to be a killer (to both parties) unless I can find someone local.

Not seen any comments on Thermaltake (particularly TR2 range) - any opinions?

Any other ideas or suggestions?

Cheers,

Nigel

Thanks, the Enermax 465 is an interesting idea.

Others that I have within my budget are

Thermaltake TR2 500W
Thermaltake TR2 470W
Jeantech 450W
JeanTech 500W
Hiper Type-R 530W

Would you still rate the Enermax 465 over these. The Enermax does have dual 12V supplies - does this matter?

Cheers,

Nigel

The Hiper I'm looking at isn't modular. Just spotted that the retailer lists it as an R-Type in the title but the part number gives it as an M-Type which is the cheaper version of the R-Type and not modular.

Cheers,

Nigel
