Need a new PSU?

Currently im using an Asus Barebone system, the V2-AH2 one a and currently has a 300w psu in it. Im sure its struggling so im looking to swap it.

It seems rather small in size so im wondering if a standard psu will fit?

What makes you sure it is struggling? Have you checked the rails (Speedfan or Asus PC Probe will give you a software test)? Are you experiencing frequent crashes or is it just because lots of people recommend 500w+ PSUs that you think it might be struggling?

If the rails are unstable or you are experiencing frequent crashes then it might be the PSU, in which case the best thing to do is to measure the PSU to see if a standard PSU will fit or if it is a mATX size or similar.

Ive started to get some artifacting in HL2 and sometimes i cant complete 3D06 as it artifacts very badly in the deep freeze test. My initial though was the card was dead but its been fine since yesterday.

It was suggested that the PSU wasnt up to the job as it recommends a 350w PSU for a 7600GT.

Seems funny to me tho that OcUK build a Primo Gamer system with the exact barebone system i have with the 300w PSU and they put a 7900GS in it :confused:

It does sound a bit odd, do you have any mates you could borrow a PSU from for a while to see if that sorts the problem? It would be a shame to buy a new PSU if it wasn't at fault.

No unfortunatly not, but im wanting to go for another C2D rig in the next few months so id need a new case/psu anyway.

I may post a want in MM and ask if anyone can loan me one for a few days
