As title guys
have got a p4 matx mobo,2.8 celly cpu,zalman quiet hsf,2 case fans,2x256 mb ddr266 ram

now am planning on using above with 4-6 500gb sata hdd`s(will need a few sata pci cards too) for a AV server for my home network.
no over clock just purely as a server to stream videos to my main pc via wired lan

got a cheepy case just need a psu that will run these. How powerful would i need?:)

currently have 3 of the hdds in a AT case with at psu running the power and sata cables to main pc but am having issues with it sometimes restarting the main pc(iffy AT psu i reckon)

Not much to power that, probably get away with a good quality 300/350w because of the power of the system and basically that it'll just be a file server. Something like an Antec 350w would most likely do the job, although I'd wait for confirmation :)

Well I'd say if you have no power hungry GFX card in there then you can probably just get a decent 400W which should be more than enough.
I would be more concerned about the brand I would be getting, as you don't want damaged HDDs from a failure.

I would'nt touch another Enermax after my 400w Liberty blew up after only two weeks in my basic internet pc. Pretty abysmal for a brand new decent brand psu.

I would go for a Corsair VX450w . They have been getting good reviews from everywhere and still retain the 5yr warranty.

recent thread on this forum is saying there are problems with the corsair psu's. not sure though. best bet would be to get a seasonic since you hardly hear about any issues with them.

Another possibility is for me to use my antec true control 550watt that is in my main pc and get a new one
i could really do with upgrading as it is heavily over clocked is running 7 fans.3 hdds.about 6 usb devices and an over clocked ati 1900 xtx
What do you think about this idea?and again how large and what make for my main pc would you suggest? :)

think i will end up getting one of the suggested psu as i want to get something for my main machine that will last for a while and that means mucho moolah :( too much ATM
thanks for all your replies :)
