Need a new PSU

I've been investigating why my computer has been crashing recently and I'm pretty sure I've found the problem. According to this I need a 500W PSU and I have a 400W one. I'm not quite sure how I managed to get into this situation as last time I did a major upgrade of my system was fine for 400W and I've only added one, small, old HDD since then but regardless it looks like I need to get a new one.

My questions is, would it be sensible to go for bigger than 500W to give some wiggle room or will a 500W PSU be fine? Also, can anyone recommended a good, and preferably cheap, supply?

My system specs are:
- Asrock 4CoreDual VSTA Motherboard
- 1 C2D processor(E4300)
- Radeon X1950 Pro Graphics Card
- 2 DDR RAM sticks (I'm probably gonna upgrade to 2GB DDR2 when I get the PSU)
- 3 IDE Hard Drives (The third is an old 6GB drive I salvaged from an original Imac to use for backups so it isn't in use for more than a few minutes a day)
- I also have a PCI sound card, PCI Wireless card and a DVD/CD-RW drive.
- USB devices: Mouse, Keyboard, Graphics Tablet, USB Hub and 1-2 USB sticks.

:p Got a bit carried away listing all the specs but I guess anyone reading this has all the information they might need now. :)

Thanks in advance for any help!

just to add, insted of using that old 6gig hard drive for backups, get yourself some flash memory based storage, 8gigs is plenty cheapo now in usb or flash card form and deffo ideal for backup purposes.

less hassle too than that 6gig hard drive. as for psu, a corsair 450w should be plenty for you.
