Currently I have a Corsair CX430 and my pc won't start when using graphics card so the PSU is starting to die by what I read here. So I need another PSU to power my computer, I'm just not sure if I should go for a higher wattage because this PSU ran my computer fine for nearly a year.

So what would you recommend?

No budget really, just don't want it to be overkill because I don't want to crossfire.

AMD Phenom II X4 955
MSI 760GM-E51
4GB RAM
HD 6850
Corsair 430w

Generally, anything over 600w should be fine. 600w would be a minimum, with some headroom. 650w would be better. However you may need more depending on your system.

Cam.

And the rated amps on the 12v

TX550M = 45A
PC P+P = 38A
CX600V2 = 40A
CX500V2 = 34A
ZS550 = 38A

To be honest I dont see why the CX430 isnt managing to power your system.

You have plugged extra power connectors into the 6850 from the PSU?

A 430w should be able to deal with that no problem assuming your not running like 12 HDD's. If the problem does lie with the PSU its not because its underpowered...

Exactly, the Mrs is using a 400w Corsair PSU to power her rig and it needs much more juice than the OP's system.

OP - You sure the graphics card works?
