Need a new router? - 8 port Wifi 6 router (Tri Band?)

My current setup is a Virgin SH4 in modem mode going into a TP-Link Archer C6 AC1200

I got an Oculus Quest 2 recently, and it works OK, but even though I've moved all other wireless devices onto the 2.4Ghz band, I still seem to be getting some stuttering when using Air Link - monitoring the router, the CPU does seem to be frequently hitting 100%.

I've noticed a few times in the past that the 2.4ghz band has dropped out as well (it still shows, but all devices drop off the network - rebooting fixes this). Considering it's a few years old, and was relatively cheap & cheerful when I got it, I'm wondering if it's time to replace it with something a bit more suitable.

Looking at the options available, it seems there are now some with 8 LAN ports - this would be great as we currently have quite a few devices connected to a little desktop switch, so we could then get rid of this, freeing up a couple of ports and a socket and getting rid of some of the mess of cables :D

This would make the Asus AX88U seem the ideal option, but then I was also thinking Tri Band, since then we could dedicated one 5Ghz channel to the Quest 2 and leave the other for everything else.

This then led me to look at the Asus GT-AX11000 or TP-Link AX11000, as these seem to be the only models which tick all the boxes.

Are there any other options I've missed?
Is going Tri Band worth while, or is this not going to perform as well as I'm hoping?
Is there a better 4 LAN port option, and instead keep the switch?
Should I consider getting a non-wifi router with more LAN ports and adding an access point?
Should I wait for Wifi 6E?
Should I just pick up a cheap & cheerful second router to plug into the PC and dedicate for the Quest 2? (but then another thing to plug in and wires everywhere)

So many choices! :(
