As title says. Im currently using a TP-Link 300Mbps (TL-WN822N) and its perfectly fine when it works but its constantly dropping the connection! When its working i can play online games at reasonable ping (depends on server) i can get as low as 40 ping to a uk CSS server. In windows 7 it says i have a connection speed of 108MBps. some days its at 80MBps but i notice no difference. It is always 5 bars on the connection status in windows 7.

I was looking at the TP-Link AV200 200Mbps Mini Powerline Starter Kit as im quite interested in the idea of having a free usb slot.

My pc isnt far away from the router, but its far enough for extensions in the phone line not to work. I dont want the router next to my pc anyway, to many flashy lights. I estimate about 12m from my pc to the router, which is downstairs.

Any advice?
Thanks
Marc

Less wires is always best. Also dont want to go drilling holes to run the cable to the router. its not directly under me, id have to route it under the floor boards over the bathroom and then down the roof into the hallway where my router is.

Fair enough, then I guess homeplugs are best. TP Links are good and have worked well for many people although the pair my friend had never worked so was refunded.
